Species text
DistributionFirst recorded from Mile End Park in London in 2011 (Milner, 2012), this species has a similar distribution to A. numida in Britain with records concentrated in the London area but with outliers in Foulness, Essex and Brighton in Sussex. In Europe its distribution is similar to that of A. numida but it is also found in all the countries fringing the Mediterranean.
Habitat and ecology
Found on foliage of trees and shrubs but some specimens have also been collected in houses and gardens. On the European continent it is found in maquis and deciduous woodlands. Here it is found between April and July with peak abundance in May and June.
Status
Although not yet assigned, the rapid spread of this species in a range of habitats suggests that there are currently no major threats to this species.
